Barenaked Ladies
Grammy Award-winning Canadian Rock Band
About Barenaked Ladies
Barenaked Ladies emerged in 1988 from Scarborough, Ontario, to become a Canadian rock band recognized for their clever songwriting and upbeat stage performances. The musical partnership between Ed Robertson and Steven Page started with acoustic performances which attracted devoted fans before they developed into a full band that became a fundamental part of alternative rock in the 1990s. Their major-label debut, Gordon (1992), featured early fan favorites like “Brian Wilson” and “If I Had $1,000,000,” helping them break into the Canadian mainstream. Their album Stunt (1998) produced their most successful worldwide single “One Week” which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and established their global fame. The band released Maroon (2000), Everything to Everyone (2003) and Barenaked Ladies Are Me (2006) which demonstrated their ability to blend humor with heart and musical diversity. Barenaked Ladies have achieved more than 15 million album sales while winning numerous Juno Awards and earning a Grammy nomination for their Big Bang Theory TV show theme song. The band continues to create music while performing live shows for fans who span different age groups. The band stands out as a top festival and corporate event choice because they blend pop-rock hooks with playful charm in their music.
