Simon Green — better known by his stage name Bonobo — is a multi-Grammy-nominated British electronic producer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist whose two-decade career has made him one of the most quietly influential voices in modern electronic music. Born in Brighton, England in 1976, Green built his sound around cinematic composition, jazz sensibility, live instrumentation, and warm downtempo textures, an aesthetic that has helped him bridge the worlds of electronica, ambient, deep house, and instrumental music.

His breakthrough came with his debut studio album Animal Magic (2000), an early anchor of the Ninja Tune label's downtempo era, which introduced the meditative, jazz-tinged sound that would come to define his career. He followed with Dial 'M' for Monkey (2003) and Days to Come (2006), before releasing his commercial breakthrough Black Sands (2010) — a record now widely considered a modern classic and a defining moment for the melodic, live-band-influenced side of electronic music.
