About Boz Scaggs
Boz Scaggs launched his solo music career during the early 1970s and later became an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who blends soul with rock, blues and jazz. Scaggs was born in Canton, Ohio. Before starting his successful solo career, Scaggs played in the Steve Miller Band to develop his musical skills.
The album Silk Degrees (1976) brought him his first major success when it reached multi-platinum status and produced the popular singles “Lowdown” and “Lido Shuffle.” The album reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and won him a Grammy Award for Best R&B Song. His subsequent albums Down Two Then Left (1977) and Middle Man (1980) maintained his commercial success while demonstrating his ability to merge musical grooves with melodic songwriting.
