About Charles Kelley
Charles Kelley is a seven-time Grammy-winning American country singer-songwriter and co-founder of Lady A, one of the best-selling country acts of the 21st century. Born September 11, 1981, in Augusta, Georgia — and the younger brother of fellow country artist Josh Kelley — he co-founded the trio originally known as Lady Antebellum in Nashville in 2006 with co-vocalist Hillary Scott and multi-instrumentalist Dave Haywood.
Lady A's self-titled 2008 debut produced the #1 country hit "I Run to You," but it was the 2009 single "Need You Now" — co-written by all three members — that turned the group into a global crossover phenomenon. The song reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, swept the 2011 Grammys with four wins, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year, and helped the album of the same name sell over five million U.S. copies.
