Chief Keef
Chicago Drill Pioneer Known for "Love Sosa" and "I Don't Like"
About Chief Keef
Chief Keef is the pioneering Chicago drill rapper whose teenage breakthrough hits "I Don't Like" and "Love Sosa" sparked a global hip-hop subgenre and reshaped 2010s rap. Born Keith Farrelle Cozart on August 15, 1995, on Chicago's South Side, he started recording in his early teens and quickly built an underground following through mixtapes like Bang (2011) and Back from the Dead (2012) before becoming the central figure in the city's emerging drill scene.
His 2012 single "I Don't Like" became a viral hit when Kanye West recruited Pusha T, Big Sean, and Jadakiss for a high-profile remix, launching Chief Keef from local Chicago star to national headliner. He signed a major-label deal with Interscope at 16 and released his debut album Finally Rich (2012), which produced his career-defining anthem "Love Sosa" and the 50 Cent and Wiz Khalifa collaboration "Hate Bein' Sober."
