The rapper Chingy (Howard Bailey Jr.) emerged from St. Louis, Missouri to achieve fame during the early 2000s with his chart-topping hits which established the Southern hip-hop sound of that time. Before launching his solo career, Chingy joined Nelly on tour while developing his relaxed rap style and producing dancefloor-friendly songs that gained widespread national popularity.

The release of Jackpot in 2003 brought instant commercial success to Chingy as the album achieved double platinum status while producing three major hits including “Right Thurr,” “Holidae In” and “One Call Away.” The Billboard Hot 100 Top 5 reached “Right Thurr” which became a decade-defining song because of its memorable hook and unique slang.
