About Cody Cannon
Cody Cannon is the lead vocalist, primary songwriter, and frontman of acclaimed Texas Southern rock band Whiskey Myers, one of the most respected and hardest-touring acts in modern roots rock. Raised in the East Texas town of Palestine, Cannon co-founded Whiskey Myers in 2007 with childhood friends Cody Tate (guitar) and John Jeffers (guitar), eventually growing the group into a six-piece outfit that blends Lynyrd Skynyrd-style Southern rock, outlaw country, and Texas blues.
With Cannon at the mic and the pen, Whiskey Myers released their debut album Road of Life in 2008, followed by Firewater (2011) and Early Morning Shakes (2014) — the latter featuring the fan-favorite "Stone." Their breakout arrived with the 2016 album Mud, which cemented the band as a force in the Americana, Southern rock, and red dirt scenes.
