Cody Johnson, whose career began in 2006, is an American country singer-songwriter from Sebastopol, Texas. A former bull-rider and prison guard, he blends Texas country grit with heartfelt storytelling—roots that helped him stand out in Nashville’s scene.

He first broke through independently with the album Gotta Be Me (2016), which peaked at No. 2 on Billboard’s Country Albums chart. His major-label debut, Ain’t Nothin’ to It (2019), and the double album Human (2021) continued his rise. The single “‘Til You Can’t” earned him two CMA awards in 2022.
