About Darius Rucker
Darius Rucker, born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, first gained fame as the lead singer of Hootie & the Blowfish, whose 1994 debut album Cracked Rear View became one of the best-selling albums of all time. Known for his distinctive baritone and easygoing charm Rucker helped deliver hits like “Only Wanna Be with You,” “Let Her Cry,” and “Hold My Hand,” earning the band two Grammy Awards and selling over 21 million albums in the U.S. alone.
In 2008, Rucker made a successful leap into country music with his solo debut, Learn to Live, which went platinum and produced three No. 1 singles: “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It,” “It Won’t Be Like This for Long,” and “Alright.”
