Daryl Hall
Legendary American Singer and Hall of Fame Member of Hall & Oates
About Daryl Hall
Daryl Hall, whose career began in the late 1960s, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer best known as one half of the iconic duo Hall & Oates. Born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, his soulful voice and affinity for blending rock, R&B, and blue-eyed soul helped define 1970s and ‘80s pop music.
Hall & Oates formed in 1970 while Hall was attending Temple University. The duo broke through in 1975 with Daryl Hall & John Oates—but it was albums like Private Eyes (1981) and H2O (1982) that cemented their success, spawning hits such as “Private Eyes,” “Maneater,” and “I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do),” all of which topped the Billboard Hot 100.
