The American folk rock band Dawes emerged in 2009 from Los Angeles, California to deliver introspective lyrics through their rich harmonic textures and timeless Americana sound. The band Dawes emerged as a Laurel Canyon-inspired group through the leadership of singer-songwriter Taylor Goldsmith who performs with his twin brother Griffin Goldsmith on drums and Wylie Gelber on bass and Lee Pardini on keys.

Their debut album North Hills (2009) presented their warm contemplative sound and earnest songwriting. The band released Nothing Is Wrong (2011) and Stories Don't End (2013) which displayed their musical development through precise arrangements and sophisticated lyrical complexity.
