About Duran Duran
The British rock band Duran Duran emerged in 1978 from Birmingham, England to lead the New Wave movement through their stylish pop music approach. The original members of the band consisted of Simon Le Bon (vocals), Nick Rhodes (keyboards), John Taylor (bass), Roger Taylor (drums), and Andy Taylor (guitar) who combined synthesizers with rock guitar and danceable rhythms.
Rio (1982) established the band as a breakthrough act through its three hit singles "Hungry Like the Wolf," "Rio," and "Save a Prayer" which MTV broadcasted in lavish music videos that shaped the early 1980s visual style.
