Fitz and The Tantrums, formed in 2008 in Los Angeles, is an American indie pop and neo-soul band celebrated for their high-energy performances and signature blend of retro soul and modern pop. Led by frontman Michael Fitzpatrick and co-vocalist Noelle Scaggs, the band also features James King (saxophone/keys), Joseph Karnes (bass), Jeremy Ruzumna (keys), and John Wicks (drums).
Their debut album, Pickin’ Up the Pieces (2010), climbed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and introduced their distinctive sound with tracks like “Breakin’ the Chains of Love” and “MoneyGrabber.” The record received critical acclaim for its Motown-inspired vibe and fresh pop sensibility.
