Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, originating in Newark, New Jersey in 1960, are pioneers of doo-wop, rock and roll and pop, renowned for their falsetto-led harmonies and decade-spanning chart dominance. Fronted by Frankie Valli—whose solo origins trace back to the early 1950s—the group’s classic lineup included Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi.
They soared to fame with 1962’s Sherry, which went No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and R&B charts, beginning a string of hits including “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Rag Doll” and the enduring “December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night).
