Hanson formed their band in 1992 in Tulsa, Oklahoma with Taylor, Isaac and Zac Hanson to become international stars through their pop-rock music and harmonious vocals. The Grammy-nominated single "MMMBop" from their debut major-label album Middle of Nowhere (1997) reached No. 1 in 27 countries and received three Grammy nominations.

The success of their debut album Middle of Nowhere (1997) led to more than 10 million worldwide sales and multiple Top‑20 hits which made Hanson into teen music sensations. The band developed their musical skills through their subsequent releases starting with This Time Around (2000) and continuing with Underneath (2004) and The Walk (2007) which showed their transition to more complex songwriting.
