J.I. the Prince of N.Y. (Justin Irvin Rivera), whose career began at age 14, is a Brooklyn-born rapper and singer-songwriter known for blending melodic rap with emotional storytelling.
Growing up in Brooklyn with Puerto Rican heritage, he started writing and freestyling as a preteen, inspired by legends like Biggie, Nas, DMX, Jay‑Z, and Big Pun. In 2016, his freestyles drew the attention of Jermaine Dupri, leading to his appearance on The Rap Game. Although he didn’t win, the exposure led to over 500,000 YouTube views and the release of his debut single “No Static.”
