JOHNNYSWIM
American Husband-and-Wife Duo Known for Folk-Driven Acoustic Storytelling
About JOHNNYSWIM
JOHNNYSWIM, formed in 2005, is an American folk-pop duo comprising husband-and-wife Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano, whose warm harmonies, acoustic storytelling, and lived-in songwriting have made them one of Nashville's most beloved indie-folk acts. The pair met in Nashville in the early 2000s while pursuing their individual music careers — Ramirez, a Miami-born singer-songwriter, and Sudano, the daughter of disco legend Donna Summer and songwriter Bruce Sudano — and married in 2009, blending their voices, backgrounds, and life story into a collaborative act that draws on folk, soul, gospel, and Americana.
Their debut studio album Diamonds (2014) earned widespread critical acclaim and launched them onto the national touring circuit, with tracks like "Home" and "Diamonds" resonating with audiences well beyond the folk scene. "Home" became particularly beloved after it was chosen as the theme song for HGTV's hit series Fixer Upper, starring Chip and Joanna Gaines, introducing the duo to millions of viewers.
