Kacey Musgraves, whose music career began in the early 2000s with self-released albums and Nashville songwriting, is an American singer-songwriter from Golden, Texas celebrated for her sharp lyricism and ability to transcend country music boundaries.

She achieved major-label breakthrough with Same Trailer Different Park (2013), featuring the hit “Merry Go ‘Round” which won her the Grammy Award for Best Country Song and helped earn the album Best Country Album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
