Lake Street Dive is a genre-defying band known for blending soul, jazz, pop, and rock into a sound that’s both timeless and refreshingly modern. With rich harmonies, sharp musicianship, and a signature retro flair, the group has carved out a unique space in the music world—earning praise for their live energy, crossover appeal, and sophisticated songwriting.

Formed in Boston by students at the New England Conservatory of Music, the band features Rachael Price on vocals, Bridget Kearney on bass, Mike Calabrese on drums, Akie Bermiss on keys, and touring guitarist James Cornelison. Together, they built a grassroots following with a style that nodded to classic R&B and jazz while weaving in indie rock and pop sensibilities. Their 2014 album Bad Self Portraits marked their breakthrough moment, featuring standout tracks like the title song and “You Go Down Smooth”—both of which showcased their vintage-meets-modern sound.
