Alt-Rock Jam Band Known for High-Energy Live Shows and Loyal Fanbase
About O.A.R.
The American alternative rock and jam band, O.A.R. (Of A Revolution) originated in Rockville, Maryland in 1996. The band gained popularity through their high-energy live performances and their dedicated fan base that developed organically. The group started with high school friends Marc Roberge (vocals, guitar), Chris Culos (drums), Richard On (guitar), Benj Gershman (bass) and later added Jerry DePizzo (saxophone) to their lineup. The band developed their fan base through continuous touring and student recommendations at college campuses.
The band released their debut album, The Wanderer in 1997 during their high school years which started their independent musical journey. Risen (2001) and In Between Now and Then (2003) started gaining popularity which led to their major success with Stories of a Stranger (2005) and its hit single “Love and Memories.”
