The metalcore band, Of Mice & Men originated in Orange County, California during 2009 to deliver their intense riffs and emotional lyrics along with soaring melodies. The band formed when Austin Carlile joined forces with Jaxin Hall to create the group's first lineup which added Phil Manansala on guitar, Alan Ashby on guitar and Valentino Arteaga on drums to create their distinctive metalcore, post-hardcore and hard rock sound.

The band released their debut album Of Mice & Men in 2010 to establish their presence in the music scene before their breakthrough album The Flood appeared in 2011. The album became a milestone through its hit songs “Second & Sebring” and “The Depths” which brought the band to prominence in the metalcore genre.
