Scott Stapp
Grammy-Winning Rock Vocalist and Frontman of Creed
About Scott Stapp
Scott Stapp was born in 1973 in Orlando, Florida and is a Grammy-winning rock vocalist who is best known as the lead vocalist of Creed. Stapp's powerful baritone and emotionally charged delivery helped to define the post-grunge sound of the late 90s and early 2000s. In 1994, he co-founded Creed with guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips, and the band would go on to become one of the best-selling rock acts of the decade.
Their debut album, My Own Prison (1997) went multi-platinum thanks to hits like “Torn,” “What’s This Life For” and “One.” But it was their follow-up, Human Clay (1999) that catapulted them into superstardom, led by the anthemic “Higher” and the chart-topping “With Arms Wide Open.”
