About Shaggy
Shaggy (Orville Richard Burrell) is a Jamaican musician who has become a worldwide sensation through his reggae fusion party anthems. Shaggy gained international recognition in the early 1990s through his distinctive musical fusion of reggae and dancehall with pop elements. The 1995 album Boombastic launched his career when it produced the Grammy-winning title track that achieved worldwide success.
Hot Shot (2000) became his second album which included two major crossover hits “It Wasn’t Me” and “Angel.” The two songs achieved worldwide chart success with “It Wasn’t Me” reaching number one in various countries and “Angel” establishing itself as his signature song. Throughout his career, Shaggy has achieved more than 30 million record sales and received multiple Grammy Awards for his groundbreaking musical contributions.
