Susan Tedeschi was born in Boston in 1970, and she is a blues-rock guitarist and singer who is known for her soulful performances, gritty vocals and electrifying guitar work. She was influenced by legends such as Bonnie Raitt and Otis Redding. She first gained national attention in the late ‘90s with a sound that was a mix of blues, gospel and Southern rock.
Her breakthrough album, Just Won’t Burn (1998), featured standout tracks like “It Hurt So Bad” and earned her a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist, helping to revitalize interest in contemporary blues. Her powerful voice and raw stage presence quickly made her a standout in a male-dominated genre.
