The Beach Boys
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Legends Known for Surf Rock and Classic Hits
About The Beach Boys
The Beach Boys emerged from Hawthorne, California in 1961 as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame legends who created distinctive harmonies and surf rock music that produced everlasting hits which shaped American pop music. The musical group formed when brothers Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson joined forces with cousin Mike Love and friend Al Jardine to create beach-inspired melodies with complex vocal arrangements.
The band achieved their first wave of success through their hits “Surfin’ U.S.A.,” “California Girls,” and “I Get Around” which embodied the relaxed atmosphere of the 1960s. Brian Wilson's development as a songwriter and producer resulted in the groundbreaking album Pet Sounds (1966) which stands as one of the most influential rock records in history.
