The Wallflowers
Alt-Rock Band Fronted by Jakob Dylan Known for ’90s Chart Success
About The Wallflowers
The Wallflowers emerged in Los Angeles in 1989 as an American alternative rock band that gained popularity through their introspective music and radio-friendly sound during the mid-1990s. Jakob Dylan leads the band as its frontman and established the group's musical direction through a blend of heartland rock and roots influences with contemporary alt-rock elements. The original members of the band consisted of Tobi Miller on guitar and Rami Jaffee on keys, Barrie Maguire on bass and Peter Yanowitz on drums , but the group underwent multiple lineup changes.
The Wallflowers achieved mainstream success with their second album, Bringing Down the Horse (1996) through T-Bone Burnett's production and the success of “One Headlight,” “6th Avenue Heartache,” “The Difference,” and “Three Marlenas.” The album achieved quadruple platinum status while receiving positive reviews from critics and “One Headlight” won two Grammy Awards while leading rock and pop radio charts in 1997.
