T.I.
Hip-Hop Icon and Southern Rap Pioneer
About T.I.
T.I. (Clifford Harris) was born in 1980, and he is a rapper, actor and entrepreneur who is widely known as the pioneer of Southern hip-hop. He came from Atlanta, Georgia and he was one of the people who made trap music popular in the early 2000s with his confident flow, sharp lyrics and a number of crossover hits. He signed with Arista in 2001 and released his debut album “I’m Serious” but it was after he moved to Atlantic Records and the success of “Trap Muzik” (2003) that he became a household name in the rap world.
His third album, “Urban Legend” (2004), had hits like “Bring Em Out,” while 2006’s platinum-selling “King” had the anthem “What You Know,” and it earned him his first Grammy Award.
