Train is a San Francisco-based American pop-rock band that emerged in 1994 to deliver heartfelt lyrics, melodic songwriting and chart-topping radio hits. Pat Monahan joined forces with Rob Hotchkiss, Jimmy Stafford, Scott Underwood  and Charlie Colin to create the band. They achieved early success through their blend of alternative rock, pop elements and narrative songwriting.

The band released their self-titled debut album in 1998 which included the popular single “Meet Virginia.” Drops of Jupiter (2001) became their breakthrough success as the Grammy-winning title track that established their status in early 2000s pop rock.
