About WALK THE MOON
WALK THE MOON emerged from Cincinnati, Ohio in 2006 as an indie pop band that gained fame through their catchy hooks, energetic live shows and synthesizer-driven melodies. The group began with Nicholas Petricca (vocals/keys) before Kevin Ray (bass), Sean Waugaman (drums) and Eli Maiman (guitar) joined to create music that unites danceable beats with catchy indie rock melodies.
The band achieved their first major success through the 2014 album “Talking Is Hard” which included the chart-topping single “Shut Up and Dance.” The song achieved number four on Billboard Hot 100 while becoming a festival favorite that received multi-platinum certification and received universal praise from critics.
