Yung Joc
Atlanta Rapper Known for Crunk Anthems and 2000s Club Hits
About Yung Joc
Yung Joc, born Jasiel Robinson in Atlanta, Georgia made his mark on the mid-2000s hip-hop scene with anthemic beats, Southern swagger, and an unmistakable voice. Rising from the city that birthed crunk and snap music, Joc burst onto the charts in 2006 with his breakout single “It’s Goin’ Down,” a club-ready hit that reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Song.
The track anchored his debut album New Joc City, which went platinum and spawned follow-up hits like “I Know You See It” and “1st Time.”
