Bell Biv DeVoe, formed in 1989 in Boston, Massachusetts, is an American R&B and hip-hop trio comprised of Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ronnie DeVoe—original members of New Edition. Known for pioneering the New Jack Swing movement, they brought a street-savvy edge to soul and R&B.

Their debut album, Poison (1990), became a multi-platinum sensation and introduced chart-topping singles like “Poison” and “Do Me!”, both peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album spent weeks atop R&B charts and went on to sell over four million copies domestically.
