Since the release of his breakthrough debut Born to Do It in 2000, Craig David has stood as one of the defining voices of modern British R&B — a multi-platinum singer, songwriter, and producer whose smooth vocal style, UK garage roots, and consistent reinvention have kept him at the top of the global pop and R&B conversation for over two decades. Born in Southampton, England in 1981, David first broke through as the voice behind Artful Dodger’s 1999 UK garage classic “Re-Rewind,” a track that helped launch one of the most celebrated solo careers in British music history.

His debut studio album Born to Do It (2000) became a global phenomenon, selling more than seven million copies worldwide, debuting at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, and earning multiple Grammy nominations. The album was anchored by a wave of defining singles including the UK No. 1 hits “Fill Me In” and “7 Days,” plus “Walking Away” and “Rendezvous,” all of which quickly became fixtures of the global pop radio landscape and still rank among the most recognizable R&B records of the era.
