Elmiene emerged from the UK's neo-soul scene in the early 2020s as one of the most exciting new voices in modern R&B — a Sudanese-British singer whose warm, weightless vocals and vintage songwriting have drawn constant comparisons to D'Angelo, Frank Ocean, and Sade. Born in Oxford, England, to Sudanese parents, he grew up immersed in the sounds of classic soul, gospel, and East African music and started writing his own songs as a teenager before gaining traction online through soulful cover performances and original demos.
