Born David Bowden in 1992 in Philadelphia, Pink Sweats is an American R&B singer-songwriter whose stripped-back, acoustic-driven sound has made him one of the most distinctive voices in modern R&B. His stage name comes from his signature all-pink sweatsuit uniform, which he adopted early in his career. He got his start behind the scenes at Philadelphia's historic Sigma Sound Studios, writing and producing for other artists before stepping into the spotlight himself with a sound that pares R&B down to its essentials — just his warm falsetto and a single acoustic guitar.

His breakthrough came with his debut EP Volume 1 (2018), released via Human Re Sources/Atlantic Records, which featured the standout single "Honesty" — a track that quickly amassed over 100 million streams and helped establish his intimate, unplugged aesthetic.
